Curriculum

We don't just "watch" your kids; we teach them. Our weekly rotation balances academic rigor with creative exploration and physical discipline.

Martial Arts & Discipline
(Mondays)

Building Character on the Mats

Our program is unique because we treat physical discipline as a core subject, not just an extracurricular. Every Monday, students step onto the mats to learn the fundamentals of Martial Arts.

  • Focus & Respect: We emphasize the traditional values of bowing, listening, and respecting instructors and peers.

  • Self-Defense: Students learn age-appropriate techniques to protect themselves, boosting their self-confidence.

  • Physical Fitness: It provides a healthy outlet for energy after a long day of sitting in a classroom.

Coding Academy
(Wednesdays)

Python & Scratch Coding

In today's digital world, coding is a new literacy. At Next Academy, we don't just let kids play video games; we teach them how to build them. We tailor our curriculum to the student's level:

  • Beginners (Scratch): We use block-based coding to teach fundamental logic, loops, and conditionals without the frustration of syntax errors.

  • Advanced (Python): As students progress, we introduce Python—a real-world programming language used by data scientists and engineers at companies like Google and NASA. Why it matters: Coding teaches problem-solving and resilience. When code breaks, students learn to debug their thinking and try again.

3D Printing & Engineering
(Thursdays)

Building Character on the Mats

Next Academy is one of the few after-school programs equipped with 3D printers. We use Tinkercad, a kid-friendly CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, to turn imagination into plastic reality.

  • The Process: Students sketch an idea, model it in 3D space on the computer, and then watch as the printer layers it into a solid object they can take home.

  • Skills Learned: This develops crucial spatial reasoning and geometry skills that are essential for future architects, engineers, and designers.

Daily Homework Assistance

We Do the Heavy Lifting So You Don't Have To

We know the struggle of trying to cook dinner while helping with common core math. That is why our first priority every afternoon is Homework Assistance.

  • The Routine: Upon arrival, students settle into a quiet zone to complete their daily assignments.

  • The Support: Our instructors are there to guide them through difficult problems and ensure work is done correctly, not just "done."

  • The Result: When you pick your child up at 6:30 PM, family time is actually family time—stress-free and homework-free.
